Department Overview

The Facilities Services Division (FSD), Community Relations Department connects FSD professionals (planners, architects, environmentalist, construction experts) with students, families, staff, and the broader community. The Department promotes transparency by providing clear, accurate and timely information and creating opportunities for meaningful public participation in bond-funded modernization and new construction projects throughout the planning, design and construction process District wide. Through targeted outreach, community meetings, and engagement efforts, we foster meaningful and long-term stakeholder participation; always with the goal of building trust, encouraging honest communication, and fostering transparency.

Mission
The mission of the Community Relations Department is to foster trust, transparency, and meaningful engagement between LAUSD Facilities and the communities we serve. We are committed to building public understanding, encouraging active participation, and cultivating productive partnerships that support successful Facilities projects and strengthen school communities.

  • Listen to and elevate community questions, concerns, and feedback to inform decision-making.
  • Create inclusive and productive opportunities for open dialogue and collaboration between LAUSD Facilities staff and the community.Promote productive engagement, transparency, and accountability throughout every phase of a project.
