Guide Technical Specifications: Track Version
Guide Technical Specifications: Track Version
The District maintains Guide Specifications in order to define the materials and systems acceptable to the District, and to establish a consistent level of quality for its schools.
The commissioned architect is to edit the Guide Specifications to reflect specific and appropriate scope and shall provide additional sections as may be necessary to cover the entire scope of work for the project. Specification submittals to the District shall be edited in MS Word with the Track Change feature on so the proposed revisions can be clearly identified. Any deviation from the Guide Specifications shall be high-lighted and brought to the attention of the Design Standards Department via District Representative. Any proposed products not listed in the Guide Specifications and any proposed substitutions shall be submitted for the Design Standards review early in the design phase and must be approved in writing. If a new section is added for products not included in the Guide Specifications, follow the CSI MasterFormat and the District's page format; do not include the manufacturer's standard specifications without a thorough review, editing, formatting and listing of not less than 3 equal manufacturers.
Review Divisions 01 through 33 and download the applicable sections for the project. With the MS Word Track Change feature on edit the Project Title Page and each specification section footer, including the school and project names, design phase and submittal date. Do not change or delete the section header date; this is the District's issue date which is used to determine the version of the specification used. The OAR or District Representative will provide the Division 00 sections and edit the Division 01 as needed prior to bidding, except for those Division 01 specifications that require editing by the project architect. A Revision Log listing the most current issue date for each specification section is also provided. Prior to releasing the final specifications set, verify if there are any updates that should be incorporated by browsing the Revision Log and checking the section issue date. Track versions of the updated specifications sections are provided to inform the designers of the specific changes made to the revised sections. Refer to the School Design Guide for additional information and requirements on the Guide Specifications.
Use of these Guide Specifications does not relieve the Architect from responsibility to verify the information contained is, applicable, accurate, and up to date.
